"Many properties on Stafford Road, especially on the east side of the road, are on hill sides and have steep driveways that are not feasible for water tank transport. We had a fire at one of our power poles two years ago and fortunately the wind was not a factor as the TVFD showed up within 15 minutes but was not allowed to put the fire out until PGE arrived which was two hours later. We are all very concerned about fire risks and we would like to see the plan that is currently in place."
"We live right on Stafford Road, so we will be directly affected in myriad ways. Will have an increased risk of electrical fire. The wildlife we love will be hurt by this project. The value of our property will be significantly reduced. Our home is precious to us, and the idea that so many lives could be damaged so that PGE could enjoy the cheapest solution to their disfiguring project is disgusting."
"Our property is set back on the West side of Stafford rd. Our entrance/driveway is on Stafford. I try to spend as little time as possible near the road beyond getting mail and placing of recycling/refuse bins because of my lack of confidence in drivers. Home value decreasing is an absolute negative. Our neighborhood trees are valued and loved. I will find the appearance of the said power lines hideous, as will anyone looking to purchase a home in this area."
"The trees on Stafford Rd. are big, beautiful and old. The joy of driving this country road is in part due to the shading the trees provide. The shading reduces the ground level heat and lowers the risk of ground level ozone emissions that increase on hot weather days. The trees remove pollutants from the air by absorbing carbon dioxide and then releasing oxygen back into the air. With the traffic on Stafford Rd. the trees act to filter harmful emissions. If we cut them down and replace them with heat generating, high voltage power lines, we decrease our air quality, increase the heat in the area and considerably increase the chance of fire. We have no water to put out fires in Stafford."
"It would devalue my property to almost zero. One of the 3 poles would be clear up to my metal pole barn. My driveway to my house would hardly exist. My house is already close to the road. The traffic is like living on a freeway. The trees and vegetation would be destroyed in the front and there would only be road and no screening from the road. I have Leland Cypress that I planted in order to drown out some of the noise and other trees planted. I have heritage oak trees close to the road that would be in the way. My property is probably one of the largest length wise with the house and two barns that are already close to the road. I have my whole property fenced and they would remove the roadside fencing. That in itself is expensive. No one would want to live here if they removed any of the property to put in poles. I need to retain it's value. No one would want to live here in those conditions. The house would have to be removed and rebuilt further back on the property."
