Dear _____,
I am writing to express my concern about a proposed new 115 kV high voltage power line along Stafford Road. We need our elected representatives to uphold the Clackamas County Comprehensive Plan in protecting the very few (specifically listed in Section 5.1) “rural scenic roads” in Clackamas County. PGE should not be provided ANY exceptions to the County land use rules and they certainly should not be permitted to install 100-120 foot tall steel power poles, cut down over 250 trees and condemn homes in the the last remaining triangle of scenic farmland separating three cities (Tualatin, Wilsonville and West Linn).
I have lived in the area for ___ years and I love our community. Please contact me at _______ or contact our neighborhood organizers Ed Wagner edawagner@gmail.com or Kelly Bartholomew kellybartholomew@wavecable.com and let us know how we can work together to stop this project.
Possible postcard to write to elected officials:
Dear _________________,
I live on (or near) Stafford Road and I am deeply concerned about PGE’s planned new 100’ 115kV high voltage power lines, set to be installed along Stafford Road if they are issued a CPCN by the Public Utility Commission. This Stafford Road transmission line project will destroy the last remaining small triangle of cherished scenic farmland separating 3 cities (Wilsonville, Tualatin and West Linn). The hundreds of visitors who enjoy the scenic beauty, fresh produce and berries, flowers, pumpkin patches and Christmas trees along Stafford Road (in the heart of the Farmlandia Farm Loop) could find themselves driving through chopped down trees and 100 foot tall high voltage industrial-style power lines. Additionally, with the recent catastrophic fires in California, the County should be proactive in not placing high voltage overhead power lines in a neighborhood with extreme fire risk, no public water infrastructure and well water. When a fire starts in this area, no electricity means no well pump and no water. Please help protect these rural residential Clackamas County residents from increased fire risk.
Thank you.
